Areas of Practice

Welcome, I am Marilee Burwash-Brennan and it is my intention as a therapist to create a safe, comfortable environment where individuals, couples and families can explore what is important to them in their relationships. I will work collaboratively with you to explore your values, invisible skills, strengths and insight. We will work together to discover unhelpful relationship patterns with yourself or others and build new connections/patterns to get your needs met and explore what they can do now that will contribute to the person they want to be. My clients often report that their relationship with themselves and partners, friends, family can be so challenging that they often feel frustrated and powerless to make the changes they so desperately want in their lives.

I have worked with couples and families for over thirty years. Internationally, I have worked restoratively with couples and families experiencing low and high conflict. I am proud to be a past recipient of the Achievement of Excellence Award from the Nova Scotia Council for the Family.

In addition to my counselling practice, I enjoy going to the gym, playing pickle ball, gardening, going to the beach, listening to live music and dancing whenever possible. I also immensely enjoy spending time with my three children (their partners) and my little grandchildren. I look forward to meeting you online or in-person.
